The Showbread Institute was established in 2018 in Karnei Shomron, Israel, by Eliezer Meir Saidel, a master baker by profession, after years of researching the biblical Menachot (Meal) offerings and the Showbread.
The Showbread Insitute is engaged in ongoing, in-depth research, trying to reconstruct the biblical Showbread - conducting laboratory experiments using various methods, ingredients and utensils, researching the sources and the symbolism, etc. - in an effort to master the technique used by the Garmu family (bakers of the Showbread in the 2nd Temple period), over 2000 years ago.
The results of this ongoing research are presented in lectures, workshops and publications.
The Showbread Institute also operates a charity organization Smile For Life that works in the community to help people who have forgotten how - to smile again.
